Why Study Japanese with Us?

Study Japanese in beautiful Hokkaido!

Our campus is located in Hokkaido where is the northernmost island of Japan. Its beautiful nature and clear four seasons bring joys to our life and these attract lots of tourists from within and outside Japan through a year.

In summer, people enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, motorcycle touring along with nice hot but not humid weather with blue sky. In winter, snow activities such as skiing and snowboarding are available all over Hokkaido and popular winter festivals are held in several cities to entertain both the locals and tourists.

Beautiful nature and tasty fresh foods will never get you bored with the life living in Hokkaido!

Japanese course attached to a university!

There is only a few academic Japanese language preparation courses attached to a university within Hokkaido. Learning in a university campus brings many opportunities to interact with Japanese students through university events and after school activities. Communicating with local people a lot is one of the best ways to improve language skills and understand a different culture.

It is also available to attend the lectures of three faculties of SEISA Dohto University, Management, Social Welfare and Fine Arts, depending on the students' interests.

We believe this feature brings international students more various experience and opportunities than language schools.

Small-sized class structure!

The maximum number of students in one semester is 30. We aim to provide small-sized classes to create a friendly and closely supervising learning environment.

This enables both students and teachers to study comfortably with knowing each other and it helps developing Japanese language skills more smooth and faster than studying in a big-sized class.

Good campus location and life balance!

The campus locates in Kitahiroshima city which is next to Hokkaido's capital, Sapporo city. It is surrounded by rich nature with relaxing environment. On the other hand, only 16 minutes of transportation by train takes us right in the middle of Sapporo city to enjoy urban life too.

Living expense around Kitahiroshima city is relatively cheaper than other big cities in Japan such as Tokyo and Osaka.

School Activities

Various school activities are prepared to learn both Japanese language and culture.

For instance, watching matches of the local sports teams such as baseball, soccer and basketball, and various Japanese cultural experiences such as trip to hot spas, 'hanami' which is a picnic with seeing cherry blossoms in its season, 'mochitsuki' which is sticky rice cake pounding, 'momijigari' which is watching autumn colored leaves.

Furthermore, international students are free to involve in ordinal university activities, for example after school sports or cultural activities and volunteer activities. They can also participate in SEISA Dohto University's events such as the university festival. These activities will provide good opportunities for the foreign students to deepen their understandings on not only Japanese language but also society and culture.
